Celebrity superheroes from across the world are meeting in Hollywood for the Superhero Awards.
Boffin Boy hasn’t been invited, so he’s just watching it on TV.
But then the show is suddenly stopped by Colonel Bullet. Boffin Boy’s old enemy the Wizard of Edo has a new evil plot, and only the superheroes can save the world.
The trouble is, they’re not very good superheroes…
So Boffin Boy goes to Hollywood, after all!
Part of our Boffin Boy series, this low-level, easy-to-read graphic novel is full of action, wacky humour and cool manga artwork – making it an ever-popular choice for getting kids/teens reading (and developing their literacy skills).
"The Boffin Boyz is a reading group we set up to try to encourage reluctant readers who had been identified in years 4 and 5. They immediately took to the series and were extremely enthusiastic. They were (perhaps unsurprisingly) struggling writers too and the Boffin Boyz group has helped them discover an enthusiasm for writing in the short follow-up tasks I have planned to enhance our group of reading books. Although the writing tasks are not arduous, the boys are so keen to commit their ideas to paper it is a joy to see. I believe they are less inclined to view reading with dread and their willingness to share and record their ideas is a testimony to the quality of the materials and their enthusiasm for it. This is a great step forward."
